Pittsburg State University’s BSN to DNP program provides you with the highest level of preparation for nursing practice.

This 74 credit-hour program will provide the successful graduate with a terminal degree for nursing practice. You can also select the optional emphasis area of Nursing Education by adding just 3 additional credit hours.

Our program is immersive and allows for specialization in the advanced practice role. It is the perfect choice for advanced healthcare professionals with a career focus of leadership at the bedside and in the boardroom.

At the completion of the MSN to DNP program, graduates will possess the terminal degree for nursing practice and will be prepared to function as expert clinicians, nurse leaders, and/or clinical faculty. According to the U.S. Department of Labor the median annual wage for nurse practitioners in

Our graduates are qualified for a number of advanced nursing roles including:

  • Assistant professor
  • Director of medical services
  • Director of nursing

According to the U.S. Department of Labor the median annual wage for nurse practitioners in these types of roles is just over $100,000.

DNP applicants will be considered for admission based up their application and resource availability. October 10 is the application deadline for first consideration. The program will start in the summer session.

Application Process

  1. Apply for admission to Pittsburg State University's Graduate School. (When asked "What will your status be as you enter PSU?" - Select "Doctor of Nursing Practice" only.)
  2. Complete BSN to DNP Application Packet.
