Applications are now being accepted to the University of Kansas Advanced Standing MSW program on the Pittsburg State University campus.
Pitt State social work alumni and those soon to graduate, as well as BSWs from other accredited programs, may be eligible for KU’s Advanced Standing Program. To serve Pittsburg and the surrounding areas, this program will be offered on the Pitt State campus every other Saturday with alternate Saturdays delivered in a distance learning format.
This program will have a clinical focus, preparing social workers for clinical social work practice. Master’s level social workers practice in a variety of settings including, but not limited to, mental health centers, hospitals, schools, hospice, addiction treatment, and Veterans Affairs.
Pittsburg State University’s Department of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences consists of those specialties that have emerged as so desirable in the 21st century labor force. Students use the tools from Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Sociology and Social Work programs and coursework to examine issues and to find sustainable solutions to complex problems affecting individuals, families, and society.
